I think of humankind and how corruptible it has been
over a few millennia what father time has seen
Murder, pillage, rape and war all for power
for religion and money made by man lording in his tower
Yet we all follow the lead in blind faith
shadows of what we should be, like wraiths
We’re so used to being told what to do
mindless zombies we don’t have a clue
So much imagination exists in us all
but the power it can bring maybe our downfall?
Dangerous though it can be
it can be used to set us free
But as long as we have something that corrupts us
then we’ll be putty in their hands, swept under a brush
For we’re something that needs to be controlled
religion and money created in this human story told
Power over many has there always been
as soon as humankind learned to think
It’s dominance over the planet ensued
our downfall one day will come soon
Unless we learn to live without greed
and the human desire of false spiritual need
To control the planet to do with as it will
to lose its grip on us and the need to kill
I'm a thinker, listener, a "question's pretty much everything" type of person. A seeker of knowledge, always restless, yet seeks the calm in life.
I love writing in all forms and am in the process of completing a number of ongoing projects. I love the craft of writing and the possibilities it holds. A magic carpet through the mind. I love pretty much all creative arts, music, film and theatre the leading ones.
Born in Hertfordshire in England, my family Irish, Welsh and English, I currently reside in Edinburgh, in Scotland. I'm drawn to coastal and mountain regions where I like to go to think and draw inspiration from. Ireland is a place that's dear to me, and I try to get back to see family and friends as much as possible.
My interests are wide and broad, too many to mention here, but history, archaeology, criminology, music and film are just some of those things I love.
I hope you enjoy my ramblings on here as that's what they are really. I'll let my fingers do the ''talking...''

Very true – the theme driving this poem.
Most of us are lost but some seekers are there and one day, they’ll prevail. Of this, I believe and perhaps am in the minority.
I’m like you too; living in hope. I write usually what I hear and see and sometimes feel within myself.
The whole thing about Thatcher dying this week and the high feelings about her and others like her are a part of this.
I may write something on her alone. I wasn’t a supporter but am disgusted by the way people are ‘celebrating’ her death.
Politics and Religion do cause us many problems don’t they and it’s us in the middle all the time. Lennon had it right with his song Imagine.
Sometimes it’s best to just flow along…
I’m no “flower” and in my own way I try to influence change via my writings. Every word counts — I reckon. My lifetime might not reap success – but I’m busy planting.

Hello Darren,
I’m no “flower” and in my own way I try to influence change via my writings. Every word counts — I reckon. My lifetime might not reap success – but I’m busy planting.
Peace, Eric
