Invisible Money

Working the grind everyday
All for a measly pittance pay
Paying the gas and the electric too
Just to stop those fingers blue

Money comes and money goes
Rarely seen, in the wind it blows
Invisible money never seen
Taken by legal thieves

You have to wonder at it all
Slaving away to others rules
Scraping by with scraps to eat
Struggling to make ends meet

Money comes and money goes
Rarely seen, in the wind it blows
Invisible money never seen
Taken by legal thieves

Last few coins to spare
In a pocket run threadbare
Work is slack, laying people off
May now lose a job

Money comes and money goes
Rarely seen, in the wind it blows
Invisible money never seen
Taken by legal thieves

You gotta hope, you gotta believe
But without money it’s hard to breathe
No escape from the constrains of life
Nowhere for you to run and hide

Money comes and money goes
Rarely seen, in the wind it blows
Invisible money never seen
Taken by legal thieves
