There’s a couple who have had a bad day
They pack their bags to go away
A few days in the mountains they need
To unwind and see where their life leads
One has lost his job in these harsh times
She is hanging by a thread they find
A foothold on the property ladder impossible
The private rent they pay is now difficult
Luckily they have food in the fridge
Otherwise this would be more than a hitch
They though have countless bills to pay
Living beyond their means everyday
Everything so expensive across the board
Food, petrol, travel going up, nothing cheap anymore
They, like most, are struggling these days
No sun for them will shine its rays
They know that money spent on this trip
Is financially wrong, but they needed it
For mad they were going through pressure
And stress, so two days away needed for leisure
But they’ll have to go back very soon
To all the problems and the ones that loom
If they could just turn back the clock
To those moments that they were lost
Then they could correct their mistakes
To not be in their predicaments made
All they want is a chance not missed
If only they can have that timeshift
