Internet Leaches

Posted on Nov 28, 2011

This is just a small rant from my usual poetry that I write. I am a little niggled about something I have received along with countless others.

In these financial dark times, there are people who prey on the weak and those that are lost in a very confusing world.
What with Christmas coming, those that are struggling are bombarded with get rich quick schemes.
The desperate will go for these schemes and get into serious debt and in the age of the internet, it’s easy to fall into these traps if you don’t know what you are doing.
I suggest that if you want to say, get into writing and be freelance full or part-time, then do a short course in the subject and get a diploma or even degree in something like freelance journalism or writing. Don’t pay for something that promises you get rich quick schemes with false promises.
Also look at Elance which is on Facebook and Twitter and is a good way to start in the writing world, but again, read the small print first. It works on a bidding system.

There is a wealth of knowledge at your fingertips if you know where to look but you must do your research first. Look up reviews for whatever you are interested in and always read the small print. Even go to your local Citizens Advice Bureau if you have to.
But please don’t fall prey to the various con tricks out there.
Another thing, Why are they not policed on the internet? I know it’s hard to do and is an immense job but something has to be done to control these leaches.
Luckily I’m not foolish enough to fall for it, but there are others who are and there is no protection for these people.
Once they have parted their money to these sites and schemes, it’s gone and they can never get it back.

I’ll leave a link on here for examples to look at from these people. Take a look and be safe. (copy and paste)
