Sinking in Shallow Waters

Circling Sharks

Shallow waters I approach
Living as if a mere ghost
Unseen and never heard
Even by the twittering birds

I sink in the sand as I fight
Struggling with all my might
Hoping for a rope to pull me free
But nowt so far can I see

Sharks circling once again
Nothing have I to defend
Just my wits and honest truth
Everything and nothing I to lose

I have to believe all will come right
A rescue soon within sight
And then on wings I’ll fly
And everyone will hear my freedom’s cry
