Burns Night today
oh Rabbie would be proud

People will recite and play
whisky drank by the crowds

Haggis will be eaten galore
neeps and tatties even more

Scotland will be partying through
their pride in their poet true

Glenfiddich, Talisker, Dalwhinnie
so many will be drank these whiskies

Happy faces all around
to celebrate a poet so sound

Rest ye well Rabbie Burns
know from all your poetry is learned

All across the world you’re revered
tonight your life to be cheered

And I’ll toast ye today
with a dram or two I say

Robert Burns
Born 25th January 1759-21st July 1796

    1. Thank-you. We had to learn about him at school back in the mists of time. He’s amazing an died so very young. He inspires many till this day. Look some of his work up. I’m sure you can get free books of his online somewhere or buy one? Enjoy finding out more about him.
