Leaves of red and orange
shine bright in the sun
A beautiful sight to be seen
this time of year I love
Conkers fallen to the ground
where kids harvest them
To play in games at school now
with conkers they defend
The myriad of colours all around
in towns and parks
Smiley faces usually found
and happy dogs that wag tails do bark
It’s the month to start those dreams
from the attainable to seemingly impossible
As you walk outside kicking fallen leaves
this month you’ll fly, not fall
Dream, dream in autumn sun
for ’tis October’s dream
Where all is possible
if you believe
