Vile Scourge of Summer

Hayfever

The heat
and the closeness of it all
Brings with it
those that fall
The itchy eyes
and runny nose
The constant sneezes
and feeling low
Weak as a kitten
always asleep
The only way
to escape the fever’s heat

Lawnmowers out
the devils they cut
As windows are
firmly shut
Then stuck in the
heat, no escape
This vile scourge of
summer do some hate
On to be by
the sea
From hayfever to
be free…
