The heat
and the closeness of it all
Brings with it
those that fall
The itchy eyes
and runny nose
The constant sneezes
and feeling low
Weak as a kitten
always asleep
The only way
to escape the fever’s heat
Lawnmowers out
the devils they cut
As windows are
firmly shut
Then stuck in the
heat, no escape
This vile scourge of
summer do some hate
On to be by
the sea
From hayfever to
be free…

Not too often do I hear of people complaining about summer … so a nice twist, although I find my hayfever is worse during spring (all those new grass seed heads just get to me). Nice poem, action packed. Thanks for sharing.

Bless you and thank-you! Yeah, I’m the same as you with grass pollen. It’s a nightmare although as I get older I seem to get it less and less; just the odd day where i’m laid out and weak as a kitten. Oh for the cure!
