Parachutes

Summer rain on a hot day
An intense argument outside plays
As words are thrown like weapons of war
Shouts and screams, banging of doors

Chorus
The sky darkens to a grey-blue
As he thinks on parachutes
He just wants to jump and land softly
To start again with renewed belief

A shop continues to work tonight
Oblivious to the ongoing fight
Whilst neighbours turn televisions up
To try and drown out the bad blood

Chorus
The sky darkens to a grey-blue
As he thinks on parachutes
He just wants to jump and land softly
To start again with renewed belief

One sits alone in his den
Time to move on he thinks again
Somewhere positive, away from there
Somewhere he can live without a care

Chorus
The sky darkens to a grey-blue
As he thinks on parachutes
He just wants to jump and land softly
To start again with renewed belief

He falls asleep with dreams of escape
Away from all the negative hate
From the noise and the screams
To taste something so very sweet

Chorus
The sky darkens to a grey-blue
As he thinks on parachutes
He just wants to jump and land softly
To start again with renewed belief
