You Wonder

You wonder why he never talks
These questions asked, he always baulk
You chat away for endless days
No-one ever gets their say

You wonder why he’s so quiet
Why his voice will never riot
All he knows is how to listen
But deep inside his heart does glisten

You’re far to gone to notice he
In fact anyone, you’re eyes never see
These words you won’t notice much
Your heart and soul they will never touch

Yet special to others you truly are
He observes you from eyes afar
Confused, lost and sad you may be
Unlike a shrink he won’t charge a fee

So please just awake and look around
Senses alert for the slightest sound
That a friend may need you, barriers closed
For some find it hard to talk, unlike most
