Under The Bed

The little boy fears
what’s under the bed

Fearing monsters
will steal his breath

Dark, shapeless things
from darkest depths

He shakes with fear at
what’s under the bed

Covers wrapped tight
against creatures dark

Long bony fingers
reaching for his heart

Creeping, crawling
from underneath

He hears them coming
like chattering teeth

Scared, so scared at
what’s under the bed

These monsters that
bring only death

Under the covers
he now dives

As something crawls
him to find

He feels it on
his bed

Coming towards
his head

Finally he lets
out a scream

Waking from his
nightmarish dream…
