Out With The Old, In With The New

Posted on Dec 27, 2011

The past four years have been a challenge
So much for one man to take
He thinks on why to him this was sent
For his heart and soul did almost break

Friends and family gone away
Gone to another realm
He never got a chance to have his say
Left at an unsteady helm

So this year he tried to be selfish
To do all that he did dream
What to him it was an unsavoury dish
A happiness it didn’t bring

So this year has been a year to forget
And also one that’ll stay with him always
Like a never-ending sunset
The people that’ve recently gone, in his heart they will stay

Full of sadness, confusion and mixed emotions
Head always lost, no direction
Always just going through the motions
Lost through past reflections

Time to think for something good, something pure
To change the fortunes of his lost soul
Then can he be truly sure
Of where he’s going, his one true goal

Never does he do things for selfish reasons
Making sure all who are close to him are okay
But he, who always tries, is forgotten for all seasons
All will be different, in a few months he says

So, out with the old, in with the new
A time to change for him and you
Out with the old, in with the new
Let all our hearts fly straight and true…
