Seeing John Thaw on the television
Reminds me of what a quality actor he was
No matter who he played, reality his mission
From tough Regan to QC Kavanagh, usually law
Versatile he was in so many ways
Known for so much through his career
An actor of high standards till this day
His intensity as an actor all too clear
His pièce de résistance though was Morse
An Inspector of high intellect, mightier than the sword
Loved by millions throughout the world of course
His character killed off on Oxford university lawns
John Thaw was one of those actors gone too soon
Who we wanted on our screens for a long time
But in real life none of us had a clue
How ill he was and cut down in his prime
He lives on though in television and films as is right
Britain’s favourite actor usually fighting crime
Now though he’s up in the great stage in the sky
Inspired hundreds he has with mountains to climb
Sadly missed Is John Thaw
Alive in our hearts he’ll always be
Never forgotten with Morse
Playing parts loved by you and me

I'm a thinker, listener, a "question's pretty much everything" type of person. A seeker of knowledge, always restless, yet seeks the calm in life.
I love writing in all forms and am in the process of completing a number of ongoing projects. I love the craft of writing and the possibilities it holds. A magic carpet through the mind. I love pretty much all creative arts, music, film and theatre the leading ones.
Born in Hertfordshire in England, my family Irish, Welsh and English, I currently reside in Edinburgh, in Scotland. I'm drawn to coastal and mountain regions where I like to go to think and draw inspiration from. Ireland is a place that's dear to me, and I try to get back to see family and friends as much as possible.
My interests are wide and broad, too many to mention here, but history, archaeology, criminology, music and film are just some of those things I love.
I hope you enjoy my ramblings on here as that's what they are really. I'll let my fingers do the ''talking...''
