Winds of Change

As I type I listen to the howls
People outside hide in their cowls
I’m inside sheltered from the wrath
Of a winters day, I’m not daft

Whatever happened to beautiful autumn
Summer bypassed too, climate change say some
The winds of change howl in delight
Wildlife run for cover, cower in fright

Is it me or are the seasons shifting
Caused by mankind or nature miffed
That we’re not looking after her
As we should, her wrath do we incur

We sit and stare, muddle through
In reality we haven’t a clue
For in our ignorance we blame all else
Except the cause, our own selves

One day it’ll be too late
As we are swept away to our fate
Like the dinosaurs before us this shall be
Because we refuse to to accept and see
