I cannot help where I am born
be blamed for the actions of those that lead

Whether religious or political, we are pawns
they control the air that we breathe

I cannot change the past for it has gone
apologise for past misdeeds

Done by leaders who did wrong
long dead now, dust, a future they didn’t see

While you fight in your fear
blaming others for things they’ve not done

Afghanistan, Iraq, Northern Ireland and many more
the stories of innocents will always run

I cannot help but shed a tear
for your cause has no end for us under a timeless sun
