The twisted tree
it turns
in the
wind
Twists and claws
at all
in its
wake
Long bony fingers
reach for
something
Anything
You
Asleep in your
bed you
suddenly awake
Fearful
Scared

For you’re sure
you’re being
watched
From outside
by something
Something ancient
Old as time
Scraping at
the window
Shadows play on
the walls
creeping
closer
Finally you fall
asleep eventually
Hiding
under the
sheets
Whilst outside the
Twisted Tree
Breathes
Watches
Claws away
