Different Worlds

Posted on Apr 12, 2012

Her friends talk away
Telling her about their day
About their lives in entirety
From different worlds can’t they see?

Friends for years they have been
Everywhere they were seen
But lately they’ve grown apart
Different worlds they live in their hearts

She’s never asked how she is
No interest in her business
Half hearted are they in her
Many emotions inside do stir

Anger and sadness top of the pile
As she listens with a false smile
She knows she loves them, always will
But self-absorbed, they never keep it real

So as her friends tell her all
The day draws to an end so no more
Barely a word was asked of her
This a lesson she always learns
