Short And Sweet

She met him on a Saturday night
Amongst idiots who were in a fight
He pulled her away to safety
She looked at him, it was meant to be

He asked if she was okay
She said she was, thanks for the save
He smiled at her, warmth in his eyes
As he walked away, saying his goodbyes

She stood still, her friends by her
His number she didn’t learn!
Why can’t she move, go after him
With him she’d like to be seen

He melds into the crowds
Gone with friends, lost in sounds
She’s pulled the opposite way
Short and sweet, come what may
