There he was with a friend in a bar
Drinking away the night, having a laugh
Music blaring out his favourite songs
Knocking back whiskey that never lasts long
He chats away happily, conversation chilled
Every few minutes, the glasses are refilled
Then something makes him look across the room
Eyes are on him, lost even to the tunes
He stays where he is, unmoving and cool
No way is he making a move, again the fool
But he needn’t worry as she comes to him
A big smile on her face, he too does grin
They talk and laugh and relax in each others presence
Something clicks between them which they both sense
They move away to sit and talk away the night
Lost in each others eyes, it all seems so right
She tells him everything about herself
In this crowded bar, she has so much to tell
He listens with eyes open and ears alert
Sobering up a little as she does flirt
A friend though she has with her this night
Drunk she is and in a mess of a sight
All over the place, her friend is in the bar
So the girl gets up to check on her friend fast
She seems okay though as the girl come back
They talk for a while longer, no quiet moments they lack
But soon her friend is in a worse state, so she goes
Kissing him goodbye, A moment in time all they have to show
