I sit in shock and awe as London burns
Adults and kids looting, taking turns
Homes destroyed, lives changed forever
Businesses gone, communities severed
Why do our leaders sit and stare
Delaying moving in, do they care?
Fourth day now, they relax and plan
More lives on the line, their heads in the sand
The fallout from this will be anger and distrust
With a government that continually fails us
They’re damned if they do, Damned if they don’t
Better act soon before the next vote
Like a warzone from London to Bristol
Someone else shot by a pistol
Birmingham, Nottingham, Liverpool too
Can this be happening, is any of this true?
Will we learn from this mistake
Or will we continue to be fake
Our past in Belfast and Brixton too
Should have taught us enough to act on through
Fingers crossed for the innocent and scared
For Parliaments vision is poor and impaired
London Burns, the government watches in silence
Hoodies rule for now, preparing for more violence

I'm a thinker, listener, a "question's pretty much everything" type of person. A seeker of knowledge, always restless, yet seeks the calm in life.
I love writing in all forms and am in the process of completing a number of ongoing projects. I love the craft of writing and the possibilities it holds. A magic carpet through the mind. I love pretty much all creative arts, music, film and theatre the leading ones.
Born in Hertfordshire in England, my family Irish, Welsh and English, I currently reside in Edinburgh, in Scotland. I'm drawn to coastal and mountain regions where I like to go to think and draw inspiration from. Ireland is a place that's dear to me, and I try to get back to see family and friends as much as possible.
My interests are wide and broad, too many to mention here, but history, archaeology, criminology, music and film are just some of those things I love.
I hope you enjoy my ramblings on here as that's what they are really. I'll let my fingers do the ''talking...''

Nice piece. Loved the line “They’re damned if they do, Damned if they don’t
Better act soon before the next vote”.Great job!
Thank you. I observed them and thought what are you doing when Cameron came on television. It seemed appropriate considering the state of this country at the moment.
Great post today! I really enjoyed reading it. Poetry and creative writing is something we all can enjoy. Thanks again for writing this.
